The Hippodrome in King St. One of Lancashires best known music halls. It was damaged by fire in 1956 and later closed down. George Formby Senior often performed here.

The Pavillion, Library St. Demolished in the late 1950,s. On the site now stands Wigan Baths.
The Empress Ballroom, Station Rd. Opened on November 1st 1916, it had a dancing area of 71 x 54 feet and a spectator gallery and supper room. In 1926 a new annex was buit called the Pallais de dance. The ballroom was origanally owned by the Atherton brothers. In 1965 it became known as the Wigan casino. It was finally demolished in 1984.
