Wigan got its first omnibus on Saturday 7th June 1919. It ran from Pemberton station into town.

The Power Station was demolished in 1989
In the late 1890s the popular form of transport was the tramcar. This double decker belonged to Wigan Corporation. Its seen here stopped outside the Abbey Lakes Pleasure Grounds.
