Wallgate Cinama was opposite Caroline St.
Was owned by Joe May in 1908, later converted into sewing facyory. Demolished 1940.

Market PlaceMarket Place looking South 1910. Lowes had opened in 1887 and later expanded at the expense of the ywo adjoining taverns, the White Lion and the Bulls Head, a third public house, the Black Horese, is to the left of Lowes. In 1985 however the business closed, just two year short of its centenary.
Makisons Arcade opened in 1898. This photo was taken in 1913. The decorations are to celibrate the visit of King George V
